Transferring EU Public Policies into Regional Social Innovation: improving Active and Healthy Ageing for a better society

Transferring EU Public Policies into Regional Social Innovation: improving Active and Healthy Ageing for a better society

  • 01/06/2017

According to the WHO, promoting good health through the life-course includes reducing health inequalities in old age, reinforcing the European health systems to meet the changing needs of citizens and expanding the evidence of health and social initiatives that impact in the wellbeing of older people.

In this context, European and non-European stakeholders working to improve the quality of life of older people will meet during the first week of June 2017 in Valencia (Spain). They will discuss and propose innovative solutions contributing to encourage Active and Healthy Ageing, while leveraging the opportunity of the Silver Economy and the Blueprint strategy, exchanging regional and national good practices from a quadruple helix perspective.

We invite all stakeholders working in this field to join us in Valencia in the following events:

8th of June 2017 – EIP on AHA sessions

The European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) is a pilot initiative launched by the European Commission to foster innovation in the field of active and healthy ageing. Inside the partnership, stakeholders cooperate to tackle the challenge of demographic ageing through innovation (academia, final users, health centres, regional authorities, etc.).

In the morning session, different key concepts in the framework of the EIP on AHA will be discussed as existing tools, Digital Single Market, funding opportunities and awards, etc. During the afternoon, members of the EIP on AHA will have the opportunity to meet and continue working in the Action Plan agreed at the beginning of 2016.

You can consult the dedicated agenda for the D4 Action Group here and for the A1 Action Group here.

VENUE for the 8th June: LAS NAVES. Carrer de Joan Verdeguer, 16, 46024 Valencia

9th of June 2017 – APPCARE

The EU funded project APPCARE will take the opportunity to meet on June 9th with representatives of public administrations and experts of different on-going and recently finished projects with similar objectives working on the improvement of health and social public policies. The project aims at promoting the integration of social and health care services from a preventive and anticipatory approach by developing, implementing and evaluating a new model of integrated care for frail patients. This will be a golden opportunity to find synergies among existing initiatives and to reflect on further innovation.

Previous events are organised by Polibienestar Research Institute at University of Valencia, Kveloce I+D+i and SEAS (Spanish Society of Health and Social Care) with the collaboration and strong support of the EIP on AHA, relevant EU networks in the field (ENSA, ELISAN, European Youth Care Platform and CORAL) and the Valencian Space for Innovation (Las Naves).
