Polibienestar hosts the final dissemination event for the DanceCARE Project

  • 04/06/2026

The Polibienestar Research Institute at the University of Valencia today hosted the DanceCARE Project Multiplier Event, a conference dedicated to presenting the results of this European project, which aimed to promote the well-being of informal carers through Dance-Movement Therapy and the WiseMotion approach.

The project has developed innovative tools to tackle burnout and improve the emotional wellbeing of those who care for older people, creating training resources, a web platform and spaces for exchange between professionals, carers and other stakeholders.

The event, coordinated by Mirian Fernández and Carles Almenar from Polibienestar, brought together a diverse range of participants, including carers of older people, professionals from the psychological, social and healthcare sectors, as well as participants from other projects.

During the conference, the DanceCARE project, its learning programme, the web platform and the chat feature were presented, whilst the results of the pilot evaluation were shared and a space was created for the exchange of experiences and viewpoints. The event also included a Dance-Movement-Therapy activity, led by psychotherapist Inma Piqueras, which allowed attendees to gain a practical understanding of this methodology.

The event concluded with a round-table discussion, questions and final reflections, highlighting the importance of developing innovative tools to tackle burnout among informal carers and promote their emotional wellbeing.
