HORUS Project holds its Final Event in Brussels

HORUS Project holds its Final Event in Brussels

  • 27/10/2026

On October 27 and 28, the final meeting of the European HORUS – Urban Health project is being held in Brussels, Belgium. The project is coordinated by Polibienestar (University of Valencia) and funded by the European Commission’s HORIZON EUROPE program.
After several years of collaborative work, this meeting brings together the consortium partners to share the project’s main results, progress, and lessons learned, with the goal of promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing chronic diseases in vulnerable urban settings.
The first day is dedicated to the consortium’s internal work, during which we will review the results of the pilot studies conducted in Valencia (Spain), Rijeka (Croatia), and Rotterdam (Netherlands). We will also discuss the evaluation of the interventions, the use of digital tools such as the Wakamola app, and the lessons learned during their implementation. We will also hold a participatory workshop to validate the policy recommendations developed based on the project’s results.
On October 28, the HORUS Open Day will take place—an open event featuring representatives from various organizations, professionals, social actors, public policy makers, and members of the public. Through presentations, panel discussions, and opportunities for exchange, we will share the results of HORUS and reflect together with participants on how to improve health and well-being in our cities, promote healthy lifestyles, and translate the knowledge gained into future urban health policies and initiatives.
This event offers an opportunity to connect research with the real needs of citizens and explore how the solutions developed through HORUS can contribute to building healthier, more inclusive, and more sustainable cities.
We would like to extend a special thank you to all the consortium partners, as well as the professionals, organizations, and citizens who have participated in the project, for their involvement and commitment over the past few years.
We are closing this chapter of collaborative work, but we continue to drive new opportunities to improve people’s health and well-being!
