On 10 December 2023, Human Rights Day will be celebrated worldwide.
This day marks the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR75), which marked the first universal recognition that basic rights and fundamental freedoms are inherent to all human beings. This historic document enshrines the inalienable rights that every person has as a human being, regardless of colour, race, sex, religion, language, nationality or any other status.
In the framework of the e-Active project, which aims to promote active ageing and social participation of older people through e-learning, we would like to use this day to highlight the importance of complying with Article 26 of the Declaration on the right of everyone to education. Older people are one of the most vulnerable groups in terms of access and use of online e-tools, so the e-Active project has developed a training course for professionals working with older people in order to promote social participation, active and healthy ageing and to motivate older people in the use of new technologies. In addition, an e-tool is being developed which will consist of multiple activities in which older people will be able to participate using the e-tool. These activities developed by the partners will focus on promoting mental activity, physical exercise and social participation of older people.
