The University of Valencia develops an App to detect false remedies and health hoaxes

  • 28/01/2022

In the session held on 26 January, we explained to a group of elderly people how to use the App to detect false remedies and health fables circulating on the internet. Thanks to all the participants!
These sessions are held in the framework of the research project No rumour Health, funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. The aim of this project is to provide users with a tool to access verified information about the hoaxes that circulate on social networks in order to avoid their consolidation. To this end, a highly intuitive application will be developed for the project’s target group: the population over 65 years of age who have accessed the Internet at a late stage. As a recent study shows, this is the population group that shares the most articles from domains with fake news.
