María Pilar Cañas got her Degree in Primary Teaching in 1989, her Degree in Social Work in 1992, and her Degree in Humanities in 2000 at Universidad Castilla-La Mancha. She is currently writing her doctoral thesis at Universitat de València.
She has always been linked to the research on formal and non-formal education. She has a long experience in secondary teaching, and she has developed some management positions: she was the president of the professional association of social workers of Castilla-La Mancha from 1996 to 1999. She has been a part-time lecturer at the university since 2004, where she teaches some subjects related to social work studies. Her research is focused on education for both minors and adults.
