The partners of the European Project HORUS (acronym for “Health outcomes in vulnerable urban environments”) are joining their efforts for the development of the first tasks in the framework of the project.
Specifically, in the framework of work package 2, aimed at estimating the impact of interventions that modify the physical environment on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), the Polibienestar research institute of the University of Valencia is carrying out a comprehensive literature review to identify and analyse the urban interventions implemented that have been shown to have a positive impact on the reduction of NCDs. Polibienestar is responsible for this task (T.2.1) and is developing it in close collaboration with other partners.
In addition, Kveloce, as the partner responsible for the communication and dissemination of the project, has already developed the project website and the Linkedin and Twitter channels to ensure an adequate dissemination of the results achieved throughout the implementation of the project.
The HORUS project aims to address non-communicable diseases (NCDs), deepening the analysis of the causal relationship between built urban environments and the existence of NCD risk behaviours. In addition, it will carry out interventions aimed at promoting behavioural changes towards healthier lifestyles, enabling vulnerable populations to make optimal use of the urban environment in which they live, thus contributing to the reduction of NCDs.
