José María Moran, presents today’s open research session, entitled ‘Social Intervention Groups in Emergencies (GISE): the incorporation of Social Work into institutional emergency and catastrophe mechanisms’.
The title is generic and presents the paper as a broad vision of what Social Intervention Groups in Emergencies are, where they operate and what service niche they provide to the institutions responsible for emergency management. The appropriateness of this topic is marked by the recent catastrophe that occurred in Valencia with the DANA.
José María explained the way of working based on the management of psychosocial crisis intervention techniques. This work is based on a multidisciplinary team context and the objective of transmitting calm and security.
