  • 11/12/2024

On 12, 13 and 14 November 2024, the launch meeting of the SACRED project ‘Sharing And Caring for at-Risk Elderly with Dementia or Disabilities’, in which the team of the Polibienestar Research Institute of the University of Valencia participates and which is funded by the Erasmus + programme, took place in Rotterdam (The Netherlands).

The aim of SACRED is to create an e-learning platform for students and healthcare professionals focused on the care of elderly people with dementia, disability or multimorbidity. The project leverages digital tools to provide accessible and comprehensive education, preparing (future) caregivers across Europe with best practices and evidence-based knowledge to achieve immediate and long-term improvements in the care of older people.

To achieve this goal, and led by the City of Rotterdam, 9 partners have joined forces: AFEdemy academy on age-friendly environments in Europe BV, Stichting Hogeschool Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Istituto per Servizi di Ricovero e Assistenza agli Anziani (Italy), Odisee University of Applied Sciences (Belgium), Social Cooperative Altera Vita of Cyclades (Greece), Instituto de Políticas Públicas de Bienestar Polibienestar – Universitat De Valencia, NGO ANRIMAC, (Spain) ELISAN, Réseau Européen pour l‘ Inclusion et l’ Action Sociale Locale (France).

The SACRED consortium will be supported by an Advisory Board composed of experts and representatives from the elderly, higher education, students and health professionals. In addition, the results will be co-developed and validated in 6 pilot sites, with the support of local Associated Partners and other stakeholders. These pilot sites are Valencia (ES), Tenerife (ES), Flanders (BE), Rotterdam (NL), Syros (EL), and Treviso (IT).

Results:

  • Compilation of evidence-based interventions and good practices.
  • Needs Assessment and Gap Analysis Report
  • Database of good practices from the 6 pilot centres.
  • An E-Learning platform jointly developed and tested by 96 learners.
  • An extensive awareness-raising campaign.

In the framework of this project, Polibienestar will lead work package 2, where good practice reports and evidence-based interventions, needs analysis and gap analysis will be carried out. In addition, it will organise together with IVASS the pilot phase of the training platform for professionals in Valencia.
