Capacity building is the basis and aspiration of SCIROCCO Exchange, a project funded by the EU Health Programme. The project aims to facilitate access to tailored, evidence-based support and improvement planning by recognising the different starting points, or levels of maturity, of health systems in Europe that focus on integrated care. Knowledge transfer has been widely recognised as an effective means of accessing existing evidence and learning on integrated care and facilitating improvement. Effective knowledge management and improvement planning requires specific support and understanding of the local context and maturity of the particular health system seeking support.
A centre can provide this support. Therefore, a key aspect of SCIROCCO’s Knowledge Management Centre is context support, local maturity, customised and tailored adaptation and capacity building. The centre is currently available in 11 languages. It has been used in almost 100 organisations, regions and countries in Europe and beyond.
