Substantial educational tools aimed at improving workers’ health and safety have been developed as part of the MENTOR+ program (Multidimensional and Transversal Well-being Program for Teleworking). The program focuses on increasing awareness of the conditions that promote health and safety during teleworking, with an emphasis on psychological, physical, and nutritional well-being.
The MENTOR+ program is designed for both teleworkers and employers who need support in adapting their organizational structure and management practices to ensure health and safety while working remotely.
The project consortium includes four organizations from three European countries: Social IT Software & Consulting SRL (project coordinator, Italy), Prolepsis Institute (Greece), Am.ic.a Società Cooperativa Sociale (Italy), and Polibienestar research institute from the University of Valencia Polibienestar (Spain). These organizations have developed a comprehensive wellness program applicable to various work environments, offering innovative training courses on teleworkers’ well-being.
The content and practical activities of the program were created using a co-creation methodology. Teleworkers from Greece, Italy, and Spain shared their needs and preferences through quantitative and qualitative research and played an active role in developing the educational program, which is integrated into the MENTOR+ web app.
The web app uses an experiential learning approach, offering knowledge and activities that can enhance the mental and physical well-being of teleworkers. The app is presented in a user-friendly format with personalized reminders throughout the workday, making the MENTOR+ app a practical wellness guide.
Specifically, the MENTOR+ app focuses on three key areas: physical well-being, mental well-being, and nutrition. Each area offers information and insights on critical issues for workers, such as managing and preventing work-related stress, emotional self-regulation and cognitive techniques, ergonomic advice, home-based physical activity, brain-healthy food and cognitive function, building a balanced diet, and solutions for adopting healthy eating habits, among others.
The MENTOR+ web app is available for free in four languages (English, Greek, Italian, and Spanish) and can be accessed here
In recent months, all project partners, funded by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Union, have organized events in their respective countries to promote MENTOR+ and raise public awareness at the national level.
